Doghouse Margate is owned by Fe and Mel Duhaney-Keown, native Londoners who married in 2014 and moved to East London. They brought Thierry, a French Bulldog named after Fe’s favorite Arsenal player, into their lives. Mel, skilled in various trades, and Fe, a renowned basketball coach, decided to leave London’s fast-paced life. They Marie Kondo’ed their lives and moved to Margate in 2018. Over two years, they renovated their property, preserving original features and creating a tranquil, welcoming space. Doghouse Margate is unique for its queer and dog-friendly atmosphere, ensuring guests feel a warm family welcome from the moment they arrive.
